Garden History Book‘Wollongong Botanic Garden: A story of Beauty and Diversity’ was launched 13 October 2004 at Gleniffer Brae. Thanks to the generosity of one of the friends who donated $10,000, a local author and friend of the garden: Ms Dena Leighton was engaged to research and write this wonderful book over a period of 18 months. This beautifully presented book explores in detail, the development of the garden in its infant stages to the beautiful oasis we all know today. Many will discover with great astonishment how this 27ha garden was transformed from weeded paddocks to a world class botanic garden in a relative short period of time.
