Conservation
The Botanic Garden participates
in a world-wide conservation program for endangered and rare
plants species through seed
collection and exchange. Wollongong Botanic garden is one
of few remaining botanic gardens in Australia that employs
a technical officer to collect seeds and cuttings from the
wild to support a number of on-ground
conservation
programs. These seeds and cuttings are returned to the nursery
and propagated for a broad range of conservation programs,
including Bushcare, Greenplan and Living Collections.
